Configure the long-term budget

In Profit you can create a long-term budget for future year wage costs on the basis of currently available figures (deductibles, tax brackets, pay scales, etc).

Description

You execute the budget process using a copy of the Live environment. Use a name that clearly identifies this copy of the Live environment so that you can easily recognise it as a budget environment. To activate the budget functionality, you include (Budget) in the description of this environment.

Note:

Be sure to also include the brackets in the description of this environment. The environment’s name then becomes Klantbegroting (Budget), for example.

If you are using AFAS Online, you should add a test environment. After you add the test environment, you can adjust the description of the test environment.

CLA Update

When you activate the budget functionality, you can no longer carry out a CLA update. Consequently, before you activate this functionality, import the most current CLA Update.

Long-term budget analysis

For a long-term budget you can perform an analysis on the basis of the Employee journal entry data collection.

There are different possibilities for creating insight into the employer’s actual costs as part of the analysis:

  • Wage component

    You can create a wage component that assumes the value of the Kosten werkgever' calculation basis. The configuration of a wage component is not supported by the Support Centre. For this, you can contact an AFAS Consultant or an AFAS expert.

  • Filter on ledger account

    You can apply a filter to the ledger accounts that represent the employer’s costs.

Queue

Creating a budget plan is a lengthy process. We recommend running the budgeting in the queue and using processing groups.

Procedure

  • CLA Update

    When you activate the budget functionality, you can no longer carry out a CLA update. Consequently, before you active this functionality, import the most current CLA Update.

  • Create a backup

    Create a backup copy of the Live environment.

  • Restore a backup

    When you restore the backup copy, include (Budget) in the description of the new environment.

  • Activate the functionality

    Activate the Budget environment HRM/Payroll functionality.
