Add or change a parameter value at the employee level

For most entries you enter a new parameter value with a specific start date.

Example:

An employee has a fixed travel expense allowance of 80.00 per month. You would like to increase this to 100.00 per month effective May 1.

To do this you look up the relevant wage component/parameter in the employee’s properties. You add a new line to the parameter with an effective date of May 1 and a value of 100.00.

New parameter value effective from a specific date

If a parameter value change becomes effective on a certain date, you add a new line to this parameter. The new line contains the new value and a new effective date.

To add a new parameter value:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Select the wage component.
  5. Click on the action: New value.

Profit automatically terminates the previous line on the day prior to the effective date of the new line.

For a start date after the first day of the period you can execute a weighted calculation.

  6. Enter the start date, end date and value. Entering an end date is not mandatory.
  7. Select the employment for which you want to apply the parameter. This is only available if you have activated Multiple employments.
  8. Click on: Finish.

Profit displays the new parameter value.

Which parameter is used in the wage calculation is evident from the start and end dates. If the view no longer contains the old parameter value, select the Wage components (employee) view.

  9. Click on the action: Wage component overview.

Only the current values of the parameters are displayed.

To adjust the current parameter value:

This method is used to change an existing parameter at the employee level. You may want to do this, for example, to correct an error.

If you already finally processed the employee’s salary during the parameter’s period of validity, this will result in an RAE entry. To change a parameter value from a specific effective date, you should use a different method: in that case you add a new line to the parameter.

To adjust the current parameter value:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Select the wage component.
  5. Click on the action: Change line.
  6. Change the value.
  7. Click on: OK.
