View an employee’s wage components.

In the employee properties Profit displays a complete overview of any wage components that were ever changed. These are wage components for which at least one parameter was changed at the employee level.

Using the Manage payroll arrangements functionality, you can see at a single glance for which employees a wage component was changed.

View wage components

In the properties of the CLA you can indicate for each wage component that Profit should not display the wage component for the employee. As a result it is possible that certain wage components will not be displayed, while in the past they were allocated at the employee level.

To view wage components:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.

Profit CLAs are supplied with a default configuration that is maintained by AFAS. To make a distinction between the default configuration and your own configuration, you see your own wage components in a different colour (purple).

  4. Open the view:
    • Wage components (employee current + future)

This view displays the parameters with their current value, or a value that will become effective in the future. You can see which parameters are current by looking at the start and end dates. A parameter can occur multiple times in the view, for example with a current value and a different value effective from a certain date in the future.

    • Wage components (employee)

This view displays all values of the parameters, i.e. historical values, currently applicable values and values that will become effective in the future. As a result a parameter can occur multiple times in the view.

  5. The value of the parameter is displayed in the Value column.
View current parameter values

The Wage component overview action can be used to retrieve the current values for each parameter. This view only contains parameter values that are valid on the current date. A parameter value that is valid in the future is not displayed.

To view the current parameter value:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Select the parameter.
  5. Click on the action: Wage component overview.
  6. Open the view:
    • Modifiable employee parameters

For each wage component Profit displays the parameters that can be changed at the employee level.

    • Wage component parameter value

Profit displays all parameters by wage component. Including those that can be updated at the CLA and employer levels.

  7. The Value column contains the current parameter value.

Profit displays the current parameter value. If a valid parameter value is present at the employee level, Profit displays it. If this is not the case, then Profit looks for a current parameter value at the employer or CLA level.

For employees that are no longer in employment, Profit will use the latest contract as a basis.

  8. The Entry level column shows the level at which the current parameter value has been recorded.

Example:

You have recorded a € 10.00 monthly meal deduction at the employer level. The effective date is March 1.

In addition, you recorded a € 5.00 meal deduction for the employee effective April 1.

  • If you display the Modifiable employee parameters view on March 1, it will show a € 10.00 meal deduction for the employee (entry level = Employer).
  • If you display the Modifiable employee parameters view on April 1, it will show a € 5.00 meal deduction for the employee (entry level = Employee).

Profit also displays linked calculation bases; in other words calculation bases that are linked to a parameter. It is impossible to change these calculation bases at the employee or employer levels.

In the Mut. bij mdw., Mut. bij wg. and Chng. with CLA columns you will find the levels at which the parameter can be changed.

Zoom in on other parameter values

You can view the parameter values of another level in the Value parameter of wage component view.

To zoom in on other parameter values:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Select the wage component.
  5. Click on the action: Wage component overview.

Profit displays the wage component’s current parameter values.

  6. The formula for the wage component can be retrieved on the Formula tab.

    Note:

Each wage component has a comment in which the operation of the wage component is explained. Always take a look at this explanation on the Comment tab in the properties of the wage component in the CLA. If you do not have the wage component available, first activate it.

  7. Select a parameter. You can now retrieve the parameter history of the CLA, employer or employee using the similarly named action buttons. You must of course be authorised for these levels. The Employee button is not available from the employer properties.

You can also immediately change the parameters or add new lines, provided that you are authorised accordingly.

  8. The history of the parameter values, regardless of the level at which they are recorded, can be retrieved using the Parameter value overview button.
  9. It is now possible to retrieve the properties of the parameter, wage component or salary table using the similarly named action buttons.
