Configure the communication service
You configure environments for the use of the communication service and you configure communication profiles.
Description
The communication service uses communication profiles. A communication profile contains all settings needed for a specific type of communication. You configure the communication profiles in the communication environments, not in the sub-environments.
Note:
There is one exception to this rule: you do in fact configure the Process e-invoices using e-mail or from a folder (UBL) communication profile for each environment.
Below is an overview of the messages that you can exchange, with corresponding communication profiles.

Procedure
- Authorisation
Configure the authorisation of this section, so that the right users have access to the required functions and data.
- Set up the communication environment
Communication via the communication service always takes place via one specific environment. You use this to send and receive messages.
- Configure the exchange with the tax authority
You configure the exchange with the tax authority using 'BAPI'.
- Configure the bank integration for online banking (only available in AFAS Online)
You record the environment that you will use for the exchange. You do not need to configure the communication service any further. This will be completed by the AFAS Online team.
- Configure the UBL communication profile
You can send and receive invoices via UBL. To do this, you must first configure a communication profile.
- Configure the Syntrus Achmea communication profile
You request your sender account via the Internet and you configure the communication profile.
- Configure a BeFrank communication profile
Before sending the pension data declaration to BeFrank, configure the communication profile.
- Configure the ‘APG’ communication profile
You send the files for ‘APG’ digitally using the communication service in Profit. Each file sent is followed by a digital receipt slip from ‘APG’.
- Configure the AFAS Personal communication profile
You can integrate the pay slips with AFAS Personal using the communication service in Profit.
- Configure Digipoort
Digipoort is the government’s electronic post office for communicating between companies and government bodies.
