Import a sales contact and organisation

If you add a new sales contact, Profit automatically also adds a new organisation or person. For the import, Profit uses the same method. You can use the same function to import new records and to change existing records.

Note: 

There are separate functions for importing sales contacts-persons and sales contacts-organisations.

During the import Profit checks if an organisation and sales contact already exist. In this case, the following situations can occur:

  • New organisation and sales contact

    Profit adds an organisation and a sales contact and links them to each other.

  • Existing organisation and existing sales contact

    If both the organisation and the sales contact already exist, they are not added.

  • New sales contact, existing organisation

    The organisation is already known in Profit, so it will not be added. If the sales contact is not known, Profit will add it and link it to the existing organisation.

Profit only adds new sales contacts or organisations if you have specified this in the import settings. If that is not the case, only the changes are imported.

To import new organisations with contact persons:

  1. Go to: CRM / Management / Import / Sales contact/organisation.
  2. Specify whether you want to perform the import using an existing definition or a new definition.
  3. Click on: Next

    You now see a window with import options.

    Here you specify the way Profit should check if an organisation, sales contact or contact already exists in Profit. The relevant fields will be mandatory when defining links between the import fields and Profit fields.
