Add a site (multiple application servers)

You add a new site based on an existing site.

To add a site:

  1. Open Profit.
  2. Go to: General / In & OutSite / Site.
  3. Click on: New.
  4. Select InSite (Profit) as the site on which you want to base the new site.
  5. Click on: Next.
  6. Enter the description.
  7. Click on: Next.
  8. Enter the Title of the site.

This title will appear in the browser when you access the site.

  9. Complete the remaining fields.
  10. Click on: Next.
  11. Select the Web location.

By selecting a web location, you determine which URL is used to access the site and the web servers on which the site is published. In other words, you use this field to link the configuration (domain/web server, etc) to the site.

    Note:

If you do not complete this field, your site will not be published. For a new site, this means that visitors see nothing if they enter the URL. For an existing site, it means that changes are no longer implemented. Thus you must always enter a web location if you want your website to be accessible via a browser.

  12. If applicable, select the Publish website as 'under construction' check box.

If a visitor logs on to your site now, the message that the site is under construction is displayed.

  13. Click on: Finish.

After the addition of the web location, the virtual path is available.
