Manually convert environments
The administrator can manually convert multiple environments simultaneously. This allows the administrator to perform the conversion at a suitable time, without causing a nuisance for other users.
To convert environments manually:
- First make a backup of the environment(s) if you have not yet done this.
- Log on to the Environment manager as administrator.
- Go to: Management / Environment Manager.
- Go to the tab: Environments.
- Select the environment(s) to be converted.
- Select the If a conversion error occurs, do not continue converting other environments. check box if you want to stop as soon as an error occurs when converting multiple environments. The running conversion is then finished, but the next environments are no longer converted. If not, the system attempts to continue with the next environment if an error occurs.
- Click on: Conversion.
- Confirm that you have made a backup, but only if you actually did.
Note:
Always make a backup of your environments before converting them. Should anything inadvertently go wrong during the conversion, you can then always restore the backup you made.
- Confirm the conversion of the environments.
Note:
During the conversion of the environment(s) Windows may indicate that Profit is no longer responding. Do not close the program. Profit is busy performing the conversion. If the conversion does not succeed, Profit always reports this!
- After the conversion a message is displayed that it has been completed. Click on: OK.
Note:
It is advisable to perform the following checks after the conversion:
- Check if each converted environment can be opened.
- Check the administration settings of each converted environment.
Confirm the administration settings for each converted environment using the OK button. Profit then checks if all the settings are still correct and saves the settings in the correct manner. If a new Version, Build or Update contains new settings, you can set these correctly straight away.
