Use a simple filter

The Filter window is a separate window that allows you to enter filter values.

You can save the filter, so you can reuse it later on. In the Filter window, you can filter by columns that you have hidden in the view.

Display the Simple filter window:

Entering filter criteria in the simple Filter window is similar to entering quick filter criteria. If you apply a filter to multiple fields, Profit always applies the AND-filter: Profit only displays the lines that meet all criteria.

For an OR filter, use an advanced filter.

Use the Filter window:

  1. Open the view:.
  2. Display the filter window using one of the following options:
    • Click on the filter symbol and click on Show filter:

    • Right-click in the view. Click on:Run filter / Show filter.

    • Use the Ctrl+F hotkey.

    Profit displays the filter window.

  3. Enter the filter values.

  4. Click on: OK.

Copy a filter from the quick filter

You will copy the filter values from the quick filter to the Filter window.

To copy and save a field value:

  1. Open the view:.
  2. Complete the quick filter.
  3. Copy the quick filter in one of the following ways:
    • Press Ctrl+F.
    • Right-click in the view and go to Run filter / Show filter.
  4. Click on Yes if Profit asks if you want to copy the filter.

    Profit shows the filter window with the copied value.

  5. You can now change, expand and save the filter.

Filter by hidden columns

In the Filter window, you can filter by columns that you have hidden in the view.

Filter by hidden columns:

  1. Open the view:.
  2. Hide a column.

    You can no longer filter the hidden column using the quick filter.

  3. Open the Filter window. Here the hidden column is still available (at the bottom).
