View and modify main employment (multiple simultaneous employments)
If an employee has multiple simultaneous employments, then one of the employments is the multiple employments. For employees with only one employment, the distinction with the main employment is not important. In the case of multiple simultaneous employments, there must be a multiple employment for the correct calculation of the wages.
In the case of multiple simultaneous employments, Profit will usually assign the first employment as the main employment.
Example:
An employee has one employment for an indefinite period of time, starting from 1-1-2010. You add an additional employment for the period 1-3-2010 to 31-8-2010.
Profit automatically sets the first employment as the main employment.
If you end the main employment while other employments continue, Profit will assign a different main employment. By default Profit will use the employment with the lowest employment number.
Example:
An employee has the following employments:
- Employment 1: 1-1-2010 to 30-4-2010
- Employment 2: 1-3-2010 to... (permanent)
- Employment 3: 1-6-2010 to 31-8-2010
Employment 1 is the main employment, even after adding employment 2.
If you end employment 1, Profit will assign employment 2 as the main employment.
If you add employment 3, employment 2 will remain the main employment.
Profit therefore contains the following main employment lines:
- 1-1-2010 to 30-4-2010: employment 1
- 1-5-2010 =... employment 2
It may be necessary to assign a different main employment, because Profit applies the 'Loonheffingskorting' to the main employment. In addition, Profit will only calculates certain wage components for the main employment.
You can record a different wage component allocation in the properties of a main employment. By default Profit divides wage components that are calculated per labour relation, according to employment, based on the salary to be paid. You only record a wage component allocation if you want to deviate from the default wage component allocation.
