SSCC labels

You can use labels with barcodes to track and trace goods and mark load bearers (pallets. cooling containers, etc.) with these labels. Profit provides a so-called SSCC code for the labels. The SSCC code is printed as an EAN-128 barcode.

Content

Description

SSCC codes are based on an international standard, with the complete code always consisting of 18 digits. An SSCC code is made up of the following elements:

  • A leading digit determined by the organisation itself
  • The organisation's registration number
  • A sequence number
  • A check digit

Profit uses a formatted and a cleaned barcode. The formatted barcode is the barcode that is used for the printing. In a cleaned barcode the 'application identifier' brackets are removed from the Code 128.

Preparation

Procedure

  • Generate SSCC labels

You generate EAN labels with SSCC codes during the delivery of the goods, thus on the packing slips. When the SSCC labels are generated, Profit registers the SSCC codes issued in a separate table together with some associated data for the packing slips selected. Profit prints the labels for the total number of load bearers per packing slip line.

  • Generate SSCC labels manually

In some cases you may want to provide load bearers with SSCC labels even though no packing slips have yet been generated (for example, when prepacking goods that you keep in cold storage). In this case you can manually generate SSCC labels and subsequently link them to packing slips.
