Citrix Receiver Frequently Asked Questions
For the new signing on method, you ensure, as the system administrator, that your users install Citrix Receiver or that they have it installed for them. In addition, you must comply with the System requirements for the new signing on method.
AFAS assumes that the organisation ensures that AFAS Online access is allowed for those situations where your organisation applies technology or security measures that make this more complex. The system requirements are an important source of information within this context.
Benefit from the items to be addressed and tips specified below for system administrators that will assist in relation to the installation and management when working with, for example, a large number of installations, terminal servers, Citrix, RES Workspace, SSCM or Group Policy Objects.
Citrix Receiver/Workspace app installation
Which version of Citrix Receiver/Citrix Workspace App do I need?
As a system administrator, you ensure that your users install Citrix Workspace or have it installed It is important that you meet the system requirements.
What is the Citrix Workspace App? Can I also use the Citrix Workspace App?
Citrix is givin all its products new names. The component of Citric Receiver are added to the Citrix Worspace App together with other product components so that customers who use multiple Citrix products can do everything from one application. It is not yet clear what the positioning of Citrix Receiver will be in future. We will update this information when more is known.
If you have a specific reason for using the Workspace App, you may use it. We can only offer restricted support because it is a new product that has not been tested much.
We currently recommend using the last Citrix LTSR version of Citrix Receiver instead of the Citrix Workspace App. For more information, please consult "Which version of Citrix Receiver do I need?"
User experience
Citrix When I open Profit, I get the following error message: 'This version of Citrix Receiver does not support selected encryption' or 'Error 1046: The Virtual Driver is not loaded'. Profit does start at the second attempt.
Ensure that you have installed Citrix Receiver 4.9.4 or higher or Citrix Workspace. Is it still an issue then? Then your installation of Citrix Receiver may be corrupted. Citrix has described a number of possible solutions. These options can be implemented (by your system administrator) on the computer or server on which you work.
The Profit screen is fuzzy. How can I change the resolution?
Change the setting from the attachment before you click the Profit button on the site.
- Download and install at least Citrix Receiver 4.10.
- Click the Citrix Receiver icon using the right-mouse button and click Advanced preferences.
- Click DPI Settings.
- Select Yes and click Save.
When I open Profit, Citrix opens a black screen but Profit does not open
This may be because of exchanging the number of displays.
Solution:
First, press Shift+F2 to see if you can resolve it with this.
If this does not work, complete the following steps:
- Open Citrix
- Open Connection Centre
- Select the yellow folder on the screen (under Active)
- Click Full Screen
- Click on the white bar at the top and keep it pressed and move it to the left or right until Profit is displayed
Another reason can be the set size of the text and that the applications are in the Windows Screen Settings. If this is set to larger than 100%, you can use the Extra High DPI setting as from Citrix Receiver 4.10.
- Download and install at least Citrix Receiver 4.10.
- Click the Citrix Receiver icon using the right-mouse button and click Advanced preferences.
- Click DPI Settings and use the choice below.
- Click Save
- Exit the Advanced Preferences Menu
(If the black screen is still open:)
- Click Citrix Receiver using the right mouse button.
- Click Connection Centre.
- Select the yellow folder on the screen (under Active)
- Click Log off
- Click Yes
- Reopen Profit
How can I suppress the Add Account window?
How can I suppress the message about the Game Bar when I start? Why do I receive “You need a new app to open the MS gaming overlay” meassage?
The ‘Game Bar’ pop-up may be displayed in relation to Windows 10. Below you can see the possible messages. The second message will be displayed if the app has not been installed.
Windows 10 has a gaming mode where recordings can be made of a game. Certain versions of Windows 10 see Citrix as a game erroneously.
Citrix recommends installing the latest Windows updates to resolve this situation. See Win + G Pop Up Citrix Receiver Launching Apps/Desktops.
If this does not resolve the situation, you can completely deactivate the Game Bar. The Game Bar can then not be used in games either.
Via the Windows settings:
- Go to the Windows start menu.
- Select Settings.
- Go to Gaming.
- Deactivate the sliding button at the bottom under the Gamebalk / Game bar component under the option about recording game clips.
Via the register (useful for system administrators):
- Open your Registry Editor (Run > regedit).
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore.
- Change GameDVR_Enabled into 0.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\.
- Create the GameDVR key.
- Create a 32bit DWORD with the name AllowGameDVR and set it to 0.
- Restart your computer.

Can I manage, install and/or update Citrix Receiver through Group Policy Objects?
What if I sign on from a Citrix terminal server? /I don’t see my own drive letters under ‘My PC’?
You may possibly record another setting specifically for Citrix to make your drive letters available within the Citrix session on AFAS Online.
- You may possibly have to enable the ‘NativeDrive’Mapping’ option in the register to ensure that your own disks become available for the AFAS Online (Citrix) session within your own Citrix. The printers will then also become available.
See https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX127872.
- Next, you can select which drive letters (made visible by ‘NativeDriveMapping’) must not be accessible in the register through the 'DisableDrives'.
See https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX135999
- If, after following the steps above, it does not work, check the following Citrix Group Policy.
- Open the Citrix Drive Policy.
- Check the settings.
What if I sign on from a terminal server with RES Workspace?
The following must be whitelisted as ‘authorised files’ specifically for RES Workspace:
