Add, configure and customise views

A view is a list of data, such as ledger accounts, organisations and persons, articles, employees, etc. You can add and change views, for example by adding or deleting columns. You can also link a filter to a view. When the user opens the view, Profit will automatically apply the filter.

Description

Profit features many default views which are tailored to specific activities. These views can't be changed. You can add a new view based on an existing view. You can change and expand the copy. SE users can also start with a new (empty) view. You fill this view with fields yourself.

Each view is based on a data collection: this is the link (a kind of interface) between the Profit database and the view. Only fields that are in the data collection can be added to the view.

Preparation

  • View management authorisation

You authorise the management of views. With this, you specify which users can add, change or delete views. This authorisation applies for all views in Profit.

Procedure

  • Add a view

Add a new view with a wizard. You can add fields and determine the presentation and sequence of the fields.

  • Change a view

You can change a view you have added previously (you cannot change the default views).

  • Block a view

If you block a view, it is no longer visible to users.

  • Delete a view

You can delete any views you added yourself, default views can't be deleted.

  • Import and export a view

You can export a view from one environment and import it into another environment.
