Enter and reconcile a payment for one invoice

If a statement line concerns the payment of one outstanding item (purchase or sales), you can write off the outstanding item directly. The write off is called reconciliation in Profit .

To enter a payment for one invoice:

  1. Go to: Financial / Enter / Journal.
  2. Check Financial year and Period. These are the financial year and the period to which you post the entry.
  3. Select the bank journal.
  4. Click on: Finish.
  5. Select the debtor or creditor number in Account.
  6. Enter the invoice number in Invoice number. Profit copies the amount from the payment.

    If you do not know the invoice number, follow this procedure:

    1. Press: F8 in the Invoice number column or click on the arrow to the right in the column.
    2. If applicable, select the Select directly check box.
    3. Select the invoice that has been paid.
    4. Click on: Finish.

      Profit closes the Reconcile payments window and copies the data to the entry line.

  7. Complete the entry.

Payment of one invoice received from one debtor:

  1. Go to: Financial / Enter / Journal.
  2. Select the journal.
  3. Click on: Finish.
  4. Select the debtor or creditor number in Account.
  5. Press: F8 in the Invoice number column.
    1. Select the Select directly check box.
    2. Select the invoice.
    3. Click on: Finish.
  6. Complete the entry.
