Sickness during leave

An employee can get sick while on leave. Usually, the employee reports this to the manager, but the employee can also process the own sickness entry manually. For the entry of sickness during leave, first the leave must be ended, after which the sickness entry can be added. You follow the reverse procedure with regard to the recovery entry: you end the sickness entry and add a new leave entry for the rest of the leave.

The reason the leave has to be ended and added manually is that in the case of an overlap between a leave and an absence entry, only the hours of the leave entry are counted. This especially affects the actual costing.

To manually add an entry for sickness during leave:

  1. End leave (manager) / Revoke leave (employee).

    You end the leave with the day before the sickness entry as the end date.

  2. Add an absence entry for another employee (manager) / Add an absence entry (employee).

To manually report recovery during leave:

  1. Close absence entry (manager) / Close absence entry (employee).
  2. Enter a leave request for another employee (manager) / Enter leave (employee).

    You again add a leave entry with the day of the recovery entry as the start date.
