Configure InSite Windows authentication

Windows authentication allows employees in the corporate network to access InSite without the need to log on again. For the purpose of determining the user rights, the visitor's current Windows username and password are used. If a visitor is not linked to a user in Profit, or has insufficient rights, then the Insufficient rights page is automatically displayed.

Note:

Windows authentication is only available for InSite sites, and not for OutSite.

If you change the Windows domain user, InSite will no longer work because a difference can occur between the log-on name in IIS and in Profit when an authentication layer is changed in Windows. Consult the User authentication - username mismatch in IIS in ASP.NET application and The LsaLookupSids function may return the old user name instead of the new user name if the user name has changed articles for more information.

Set the Windows authentication:

  1. Log in to the central log-on environment. The function below is only available in this environment.
  2. Go to: General / In & OutSite / Configuration / Domain.
  3. Open the properties of the domain.
  4. Go to the tab: Virtual paths.
