Add a course

A course can be seen as an article you are selling.

You schedule a course on a number of dates. A scheduled course is an event.

To add a course:

  1. Go to: CRM / Course management / Course.
  2. Click on: New.
  3. Enter a value in Item code.
  4. Enter the description.
  5. Select a value for Article group.
  6. Select a value for Basic unit.
  7. Select a value for VAT rate group.
  8. Click on: Next.
  9. If required, enter a value for Price group.

You can record discounts based on price groups.

  10. Complete the remaining fields.
  11. Click on: Next.
  12. Select the principal teacher.
  13. If required, enter a value for Location. When you record an event, you can also set (or adjust) the location. We will discuss this further in the next chapter.

If a course consists of multiple sessions, you can specify a different location for each session in the course properties.

  14. If required, enter a value for Min.number of participants.
  15. If required, enter a value for Max. number of participants.

If you selected a location, the maximum is suggested based on what is specified for the location. You can change the maximum for a specific course. This data is included in the occupancy overview.

During the registration of participants for the course, a check is made against this maximum. If it is exceeded, a message appears, but you still are able to register more participants.

  16. Click on Next several times and then click on Finish to complete the wizard.
  17. Open the properties of the course.
  18. Go to the tab: Confirmation.
  19. Select a value for Invitation.

Here, you select a course report. This invitation is automatically sent to the participants when they enrol in the course.

  20. Select a value for Message registration.
  21. Go to the tab: In & OutSite.
  22. If applicable, select a value in Page InSite and/or Page OutSite.

You can use this page, for example, to show the course material. This material will also be available to the visitor depending on the selection.

  23. If applicable, select a value for Profile.

By linking a profile, you can create a specific registration and conformation page for each course.

If you do not add and link a profile to a course, the participant sees the default registration page.

  24. Click on: OK.

By default, the Check for duplicate registration check box is selected for a course. If you have an event that recurs annually, participants may want to register every year. If you deselect this check box, the participants do not receive a message. You can change this setting in the course properties.
