Description

You can save images in Profit, such as photos of people or articles. Profitsaves the images in the ..\AFAS Data folder.

By default, images are converted to a .jpg file (irrespective of the original file format) with a maximum size of 1 megapixel. There is one exception to this: .gif files are saved as .gif files with a maximum size of 1 megapixel. Although Profit always reduces an image to the maximum size, there is no limit to the size of an image you want to save in Profit.

On top of that, Profit saves each file again as a 'thumbnail' with a maximum size of 64x64 pixels. You can use thumbnails in reports and views, but not in documents and analyses. The use of thumbnails (instead of large images) improves the performance.

Procedure

  • Add data using a wizard

You always use a wizard to add master data (employees, persons, ledger accounts, etc.).

  • Change properties

You can only change data if you are authorised to do so. Some data can't be changed after it has been recorded or used.

  • Delete data

If you delete data, it will be permanently removed from the Profit database. You can't undo this operation (Profit will display a warning).

  • Block data
  • You can block specific data that you no longer use. Blocked data cannot be used, but you can often still see them.
  • Entry window

Entry windows are used to make entries (entry lines).

  • Perform calculations in numerical fields

Instead of a value, you can enter a calculation in a field. Profit saves the calculated value. This allows you to perform simple calculations without the need for a separate spreadsheet.

  • Preferred values for properties and wizards

When adding data, you can have certain fields automatically populated with a preferred value. You can set this preferred value yourself.

  • Enter a duration in a field

Profit HR allows you to record the duration of leave and absence entries in hours and minutes or in decimals. This mode of entry depends on your environment settings.
