Change a ledger account number

You can always change a ledger account number. Any change is also applied to the entries.

Note:

When you change an account number, you also change the ledger's structure. Ledger accounts in the account overviews are sorted by account number. Check the structure of your account levels: they determine the structure of the balance sheet and the profit and loss account.

Example:

The ledger accounts Omzet hardware (8010), Omzet software (8020) and Omzet Games (8030) fall under account level 8099 (Total turnover).

You change account number 8030 to 8130. As a result this account no longer falls under account level 8099, and instead comes under account level 8199 (Accessories sales).

To change an account number:

  1. Go to: Financial / Ledger / Ledger account.
  2. Select the ledger account.
  3. Click on the action: Change account number.
  4. Enter the new account number.
  5. Click on: Finish.
