Copy a quotation from an existing cost estimate

When you add or change a cost estimate you can also opt to copy one or more existing cost estimates. You use this, for example, if you want to make a cost estimate for an order that is similar to an assignment that has been performed previously. It is also possible to create a number of default cost estimates if you include the same combination of cost estimate lines in quotations to clients frequently. This includes recipes or bills of material, for example.

When copying existing cost estimates, the value of the Charge field on the lines is also copied.

When copying cost estimates you can use a calculation factor: the numbers and line amounts are then multiplied by the specified factor.

When you copy a cost estimate, you can include the assembled and explosion items.

To copy from an existing cost estimate/quotation:

  1. Go to: Projects / Cost estimate / Cost estimate.
  2. Click on: New or open the properties of an existing cost estimate.
  3. Select the entry layout..
  4. Select the project..
  5. Click on the action: F5. Select.
  6. Click on the action: Copy cost estimate.
  7. Select the quotation that you want to copy in Quotation number.
  8. Enter a value in Factor. The quantities copied will be multiplied by this number in the quotation lines.
  9. Select the Redetermine prices check box if you want Profit to recalculate the cost price and sales rates based on the reference date entered for the new cost estimate. If this check box is not selected, Profit does not look at the reference date but copies the prices from the cost estimate.
  10. Select the Copy planning date check box if you want Profit to copy the Date planning from the original cost estimate lines to the new cost estimate. If you do not select this check box, the planning date is determined again.
  11. Click on: Finish

You can copy multiple existing cost estimates to a single new cost estimate by repeating the action. You can always go back and change or delete the copied lines later on. You can remove a line by selecting it and then clicking Delete.
