Link a generic team to a project

When you add a new project, you can link a generic team directly to a project. You can also afterwards add a generic team to an existing project by using the Team view or the properties of a project.

Link a team to a new project

When you add a new project, you can directly link a generic team to the project.

To link a generic team to a new project:

  1. Go to: Projects / Project / Project.
  2. Click on: New.
  3. Select a project profile if you want to base the project on a project profile.
  4. Click on: Next.
  5. Complete the fields.
  6. Click on: Next.
  7. Select the team in Team.

    You can only select an existing generic team here. If you want a specific team for one project, you add it from the properties of the project.

  8. Select the Only allow team members to enter actual costing check box if you want only team members to be allowed to post entries to this project. You can only select this check box if you have selected a team in Team.
  9. Profit copies the data in Internal project manager and External project manager from the data of the team if you have entered it there.

    If you do not link a team, you can enter the Internal project manager and External project manager.

  10. Click on: Next.
  11. If applicable, enter a value in Planned completion date and in Actual completion date.
  12. Click on: Next.
  13. If applicable, enter a value in the fields for the invoice.
  14. Select the Charge check box if you want the actual costing lines entered for this project to be invoiced to the client by default.
  15. Click on: Next.
  16. Click on: Finish.

Use the Team view to link a team to projects

You use the Team view to link a generic team to multiple existing projects.

To use the Team view to link a team to multiple existing projects:

  1. Go to: Projects / Team / Team.
  2. Select the team.
  3. Click on the action: Link projects.

    You only see the projects that have not been linked to a team yet.

  4. Select the check boxes for the projects that you want to link.
  5. Click on: Finish.

Use the project properties to link a team to a project

You use the project properties to link a generic team to a project.

To use the project properties to link a team to a project:

  1. Go to: Projects / Project / Project.
  2. Open the properties of a project.
  3. Go to the tab: Project management.
  4. Select the team in Team.

    Profit copies the data for Internal project manager and External project manager from the team data if you have entered this.

  5. Click on: OK.
