View the holiday allowance recalculation

A common question is: ‘Why does Profit recalculate the paid holiday allowance?'. Profit recalculates the paid holiday allowance if this has been configured in the wage component for the holiday allowance.

The 'Soort herrekening' parameter only has a function if the 'Periode uitbetalen' period is before the 'Opbouw tot en met periode' period and the method is 'Opbouw Grondslag'. If holiday allowance payment is based on a period that is not the last holiday allowance accrual period, it is possible that a recalculation in a later holiday allowance period of the accrual year will result in a different holiday allowance.

Recalculation takes place over the time frame from the period following 'Periode uitbetalen' up to and including the 'Opbouw tot en met periode' period. If the employee leaves employment during this time frame then the last period of the employee's employment is used instead of 'Opbouw tot en met periode'. Recalculation takes place in the last period of the holiday allowance accrual year, unless an employee leaves employment or something else has been specified for the method.

For employees for whom the Apply timetable in Payroll check box on the Salary tab is not selected, Profit only pays the holiday allowance over the accrued calculation basis. At the end of the holiday allowance accrual year, the amount from the 'Periode uitbetalen' period until the end of the holiday allowance accrual year is paid out. The reason for this is that the 'Grondslag deze periode' uses the part-time percentage that these employees do not have.

To view the recalculation method:

  1. Go to: HR / Organisation / CLA.
  2. Open the CLA properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Open the properties of the wage component.
  5. Go to the tab: Parameter.

You see the 'Soort herrekening' parameter. It can have the following values:

    • No recalculation

Using this method, the holiday allowance is only paid out to employees who have entered employment after 'Periode uitbetalen'.

    • Recalculation of part time percentage

Using this method, the holiday allowance is recalculated using the 'Opbouw parttime percentage' accumulated over the recalculation time frame and compared with what has been paid in the 'Periode uitbetalen'. The difference is either paid out or deducted.

    • Recalculation of part time percentage and salary

Using this method, the difference between the accumulation of the 'Opbouw grondslag' and the advance payment made in 'Periode uitbetalen' is paid out/withheld.

    • Recalculate part-time percentage and pay out new employees in period before last

Using this method, an extra recalculation is made in the period before 'Opbouw tot en met periode' using method 2 and in the period of 'Opbouw tot en met periode' using method 3.
