View the holiday allowance calculation method
The method and the method minimum determine the calculation basis that Profit uses to calculate the holiday allowance. You check this first before you verify the holiday allowance.
You can view the methods that Profit applies for the 'Vakantietoeslag' wage component in the wage component.
To view the current method:
- Go to: HR / Organisation / CLA.
- Open the CLA properties.
- Go to the tab: Wage component.
- Open the properties of the wage component.
- Go to the tab: Parameter.
You see the current method in the 'Methode' parameter, and the current method minimum in the 'Methode Minimum' parameter.
Based on the following table, you determine the calculation basis that Profit uses:

Accrual calculation basis
As the calculation basis, Profit uses the value of the 'Opbouw grondslag' parameter. This is the calculation basis with the description 'Vakantietoeslag opbouw grondslag'. The cumulative calculation basis consists of the employee’s cumulative wage for the periods over which the holiday allowance is calculated.
- Accumulation of 'Opbouw grondslag' x percentage / 100
If 'Periode uitbetalen' is before 'Opbouw tot en met periode' and it is not the last period of the employee's employment then Profit increases the amount by:
- 'Grondslag deze periode' x part-time percentage x ('Opbouw tot en met periode' for 'Periode uitbetalen') x percentage / 100
Note:
If the holiday allowance period runs up to and including period 6 and payment takes place in period 5, then when the holiday allowance is paid out, it is calculated over:
- Up to and including period 5 on the calculation basis mentioned in the 'Opbouw grondslag' parameter.
- On (the future) period 6 on the calculation basis mentioned in the 'Grondslag deze periode' parameter.
The sum of the two is the paid holiday allowance.
Therefore, make sure that both calculation bases have been configured in the same way or that the same calculation basis is used for both parameters.
Calculation basis for this period
As a calculation basis Profit uses the value of the 'Grondslag deze periode' parameter. This is the calculation basis with the description 'Vakantietoeslag deze periode'. Normally the wage in the payment period is used for this. In the Basic CAO, you can use another reference period.
- Accumulation of 'Opbouw parttime percentage' x 'Grondslag deze periode' x percentage / 100.
If 'Periode uitbetalen' is before 'Opbouw tot en met periode' and it is not the last period of the employee's employment then Profit increases the amount by:
- 'Grondslag deze periode' x part-time percentage x ('Opbouw tot en met periode' of 'Periode uitbetalen') x percentage / 100.
Calculation basis for this period (excluding employees paid by the hour)
