You manage users who should have access to Profit.

Description

You can add regular users and system users. The maximum number of active users and which rights you can assign depend on your licence.

Regular user

Regular users are people who work with Profit and InSite on a daily basis. A regular user is always linked to a person. When adding a user, you can also add a person or link the user to an existing person.

If you have Profit HR, the regular user can also be linked to an employee. For certain functionality this link is even mandatory:

  • Profit Calendar

Each employee has his own calendar. In the calendar, Profit can show days closed, leave, absence and actual costing.

  • Authorisation based on organisation chart.

You populate the groups in the Authorisation tool based on the organisation chart.

    Note:

If you want to give the same user access to multiple environments, you add this user to each environment with the same user code. If you use different codes, the user is counted more than once.

You can add users to another environment in the following ways:

System user

A system user is not linked to a person. A system user can have access to Connectors, command line functions and the option to create backups via the command line.

Example:

In each environment you add a system user who is authorised to create backups, but not for other functionality.

You can also assign authorisation for system users to a regular user. However, this is not advisable for the use of command lines. The command line is externally saved and contains both the name and the password of a system user. The password of a regular user is always private and should not appear in the command line.

AFAS Online - access to Microsoft Office

If you are using AFAS Online, you can also give your users access to Microsoft Office. Access to Office allows a user to manage documents and analyses. Without access this is not possible and the user can only view documents and analyses in the Word or Excel Viewer. In addition, when exporting data, the data can only be exported as so-called “flat text” or a CSV file.
